Anyone else in a season of feeling overwhelmed? Not only is life hectic with two young children in general, but summer always seems to become very overwhelming. Maybe it’s all the time spent out in the sun. Perhaps it is the change in our schedule, with more playdates and birthday plans. Or maybe it is because we tend to try to do more family activities during the summer months. Whatever the reason, I have been feeling the overwhelming stresses in life a lot these days. So to help calm my nerves I wanted to explore (and share!) Bible verses that can help us all reverse that feeling of being overwhelmed.
LIFT IT UP IN PRAYER AND RECIEVE HIS PEACE
Psalm 94:19 (NLT) When doubts filled my mind your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.
Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Joshua 1:9 (NIV) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord our God is with you wherever you go.
Deuteronomy 31:8 (ESV) It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
HE WILL GIVE YOU STRENGTH
Psalm 142:3 (NLT) When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Where I go, my enemies have set traps for me.
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Life can be chaotic and make us feel like we are spinning in circles. Keeping up with just the day to day activities, doctor appointments and family plans can start to feel like too much. But no matter what season of the year it is, or what is causing you to feel overwhelmed, God is there. Lift your burdens to Him and allow Him to give you the peace and wisdom you need. You are not alone and pursuing God more deeply in times of stress is the best strategy to subside that feeling of being overwhelmed.
